Dr. Elsaied Mohamed Abdel Whahed Completed his Bsc and Msc at Alexandria University in 1984 and 1993. He recived Ph.D. in Physical chemistry (especially treatment of wastewater from heavy metals) Alexandria University, Egypt. He serve as a Teacher Assistant from 1985-1986 at Alexandria University. From 2002- 2007 he become a Sift manager chemistry in gas chromatography lab, Petrochemical company - Alexandria, Egypt.He become a Director of the department for the PVC analysis Supervision on the analysis of the final product, intermediate and row material. Currently he is Professor of physical chemistry Damanhur university. His main Training did at Egyptian petrochemical company in the aeria of Boiler treatment, The material balance, Environmental assessment of sites based oil and new projects, Rehabilitation, Administrative system for the environment, etc.

I would like to subject the using of nanotechnology in energy conservation which is an important topic for me in my site as a researcher and developer in the petrochemical industry, which requires more information technology in addition to the latest updates on using nanostructures, especially the use of nano-catalysts and the substitution of traditional catalysts which lead to a small production and many pollutants, unlike the use of nano-catalysts, which provide more energy used in the interaction, as well as reduce the amount of reactors and also reduce the amount of polluting material which effects of the environment. I hope also to stand on the latest nanotechnology methods used in the treatment of organic pollutants without the use of chemicals or additional energy affect the cost of the final product.

Ching-An Peng started his academic career as an assistant professor at the University of Southern California in Chemical Engineering Department and later on promoted to associate professor with tenure. He then worked at the National Taiwan University as a full professor and at Michigan Technological University as the first holder of the James and Lorna Mack Endowed Chair in Bioengineering. In 2015, he joined the University of Idaho. Over the course of his academic career, Peng has been involved with research in drug/gene delivery using viral and nonviral vectors as well as ultrasonic device, developing phagocytosis-resistant perfluorocarbon-based oxygen carriers using PEGylated fluorosurfactant and CD47 ligand, photothermolysis of cancer cells using nanomaterials, and detection of antiviral agents using nanobiosensors.

Alexander Seifalian, Professor of Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine worked at the Royal Free Hospital and University College London for over 26 years, during this time he spent a period of time at Harvard Medical School looking at caused of cardiovascular diseases and a year at Johns Hopkins Medical School looking at treatment of liver. He published more than 647 peer-reviewed research papers, and registered 14 UK and International patents. He is currently CEO of NanoRegMed Ltd, working on the commercialisation of his research. During his career Prof Seifalian has led and managed many large projects with successful outcomes in terms of commercialisation and translation to patients. In 2007 he was awarded the top prize in the field for the development of nanomaterials and technologies for cardiovascular implants by Medical Future Innovation, and in 2009 he received a Business Innovation Award from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). He was the European Life Science Awards’ Winner of Most Innovative New Product 2012 for the “synthetic trachea”. Prof Seifalian won the Nanosmat Prize in 2013 and in 2016 he received the Distinguish Research Award in recognition of his outstanding work in regenerative medicine from Heals Healthy Life Extension Society. His achievements include development of the world first synthetic trachea, lacrimal drainage conduit, and vascular bypass graft using nanocomposite materials, bioactive molecules and stem cell technology. He has over 15,000 media report from his achievement, include BBC, ITV, WSJ, CNN, and many more. Currently he is working on development and commercialisation of human organs using graphene based nanocomposite materials and stem cells technology.

Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine

Dr. Kouros Motamed, Ph.D. has been the Director of Drug Development at NantBioScience, Inc. since April 2016. Prior to that, he has served as VP of Strategic Alliances and Clinical Communications and VP of Clinical Development and Nanomedicine at Sorrento Therapeutics from 2013 to 2016. He has also served as a co-founder and CSO/CTO of Igdrasol, Inc. and Biomiga Diagnostics start-up companies from 2011-2013. Prior to that, Dr. Motamed served as the MOA and Molecular Biology Group Head at Celgene Corp. and Abraxis BioScience Inc. from 2007-2011. Dr. Motamed held an Assistant Professorship position in the Department of Pathology and Vascular Biology Center at Georgia Health Sciences University from 2002-2007. He has over 30 original publications in peer-reviewed journals, over 50 conference presentations and has 5 issued patents. He has served on the Editorial Board of Journal of Nanomaterials & Molecular Nanotechnology since 2013. Dr. Motamed received a B.S. degree in Biology from University of San Francisco and a Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Davis in Microbiology.

Ziyad S. Haidar is an Associate Professor of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering and the Scientific Director of the Centro de Investigación en Biología y Regeneración Oral (CIBRO), Centro de Investigación Biomédica (CIB), Facultad de Odontología, Universidad de los Andes in Santiago de Chile. Concurrently, Prof. Dr. Haidar is the Founder and Head of the Biomaterials, Pharmaceutical Delivery and Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Tissue Engineering Laboratory (BioMat'X) and Faculty member in the PhD program (BioMedicine) at the Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de los Andes in Santiago de Chile. Haidar is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a PhD in biomaterials and tissue engineering from McGill University, Montréal , Canada; and post-doctoral training at the Montréal Shriners Hospital, McGill University Health Center, Montréal , Canada. Before moving to Chile, he served as the Chair of Excellence in BioEngineering at the Université de Limoges, Limoges, France and was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, USA. Haidar has won several prestigious awards from the International Bone and Mineral Society, Society for Biomaterials, Canadian Biomaterial Society and Canadian/Lebanese Society of Plastic Surgeons, to name a few. He has more than 80 publications, conference proceedings, text-books and patents and is an editorial board member of several national and international scientific journals and periodicals.

Dr. Farid Menaa (Bsc. BioEngineering ; Bsc. Biology and Physiology ; Msc. Genetics ; Master Gerontology/Geriatrics ; PhD Radiation Oncology/Gerontology (Paris, France, 2003) ; three international post-doctoral terms in Oncology, Dermatology, Stem cells, Hematology, Genomics ; MBA Entrepreneurship and MD candidate), is an experienced and skilled inter- and multi-disciplinary professional. During his career, Dr. Menaa followed complementary formations in Marine Biology (Caen, France), Pharmacy (Liege, Belgium), Biochemistry, Chemistry and Biophysics (California, USA), Business Development and Management (USA and Brazil). During his ongoing career, Dr. Menaa has mainly contributed to the identification and function of new human genes modulated by radiation ; Discovered a new signaling pathway after DNA damage ; Pointed out the link between the presence of stem cells, some of their genetic mutations, and the patient’s diagnosis and prognostic ; Identified genomic alterations in adult sickle cell anemia patients with stroke ; Developed new phytotherapeutic formulations against skin conditions ; Demonstrated the importance of various natural medicines in the prevention and/or treatment of diverse inflammatory-state and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) ; Contributed to the development and characterization of new nanomaterials ; Developped personalized translational medical strategies to diagnose and treat better and faster chronic pathologies. In 2009, Dr. Menaa was named Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and R&D&I Executive Vice-Pressident (EVP) for Fluorotronics, Inc, CA, USA, the leading company in Fluorine-Carbon Spectroscopy. Dr. Menaa co-developped and applied this innovative green technology to Nanomedicine, Medicinal Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Oncology, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences. Professor Puzyn is an active member of the international emvironment involved in the issues of chemical safety and nanotechnology: as the leader of two international projects thanks to the EU 7th Framework Programme (NanoBRIDGES and NanoPUZZLES), initiatives under the European Nanosafety Cluster and as a member of the Steering Committee of the MODENA Action, implemented within the framework of COST - European Cooperation in Science and Technology. He is also the winner of many prestigious national and international awards, i.e.: individual scholarship of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of Science, grants of the Foundation for Polish Science (programmes: START, HOMING and FOCUS), a scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education holder and the winner of the Polish Prime Minister Prize for the best habilitation thesis in 2012.

Computational methods for designing nanomaterials

Henrique Faneca is principal investigator at Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, and invited assistant professor at University of Coimbra. He received his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from Coimbra University in 2005. The main focus of his research is the development of lipid- and polymeric-based nanosystems for gene and drug delivery into target cells and the generation of new antitumor strategies, involving different gene therapy approaches either per se or in combination with chemotherapeutic agents. Henrique Faneca is author of more than 45 scientific papers corresponding to over 1500 citations and to an h-index of 19.

Dr. S. I. El-Dek is associate professor and the head of the Material Science and Nanotechnology department, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Advanced Sciences, Beni-Suef University, Egypt. She got her Bachelor of Science in physics in May 1997 from Cairo University, and her Master’s degree in physics from Cairo University in May 2001. Also she earned her PhD degree in physics in 2006 from Cairo University. She has a great experience in preparation, characterization, and applications of magnetic nanomaterials and biotechnology applications of nanomaterials.

Dr Khaled Abbas Helmy Abdou has completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Toxicology from faculty of veterinary medicine, Cairo university, Egypt. He is a Professor of Toxicology Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Beni Suef University, Egypt. He is currently the Chairman of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology Dept., Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Beni Suef University, Egypt. He is the General Secretary for The Egyptian Society of Environmental Toxicology.

Dr Abbas Amini is an assistant professor at the Australian College of ACK and Western Sydney University, and the member of graduate supervisory board. After obtaining PhD, he conducted research with other Australian universities, as a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash and Deakin Universities, and as a senior research fellow at the University of Melbourne. His fine outcomes have been presented in high impact factor journals, e.g., Nature publication group, and a recent published book in 2016. Abbas is the editor of ten reputed journals, and the committee member of 20 international conferences.

Paolo Ferruti took his degrees at the University of Pavia and then was summoned by Giulio Natta at the Polytechnic of Milan. In 1968, he worked with Melvin Calvin in Berkeley at the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory of the University of California. In 1976, he became Full Professor at the University of Naples and then commuted to Bologna, Brescia and finally Milan. He authored more than 400 papers and 50 patents. His main scientific interests regard functional polymers for technical and biotechnological applications. He is credited for the invention of polyamidoamines. According to Research Gates, to date he authored or co-authored 323 publications and received 5696 citations
