Ziyad S. Haidar is an Associate Professor of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering and the Scientific Director of the Centro de Investigación en Biología y Regeneración Oral (CIBRO), Centro de Investigación Biomédica (CIB), Facultad de Odontología, Universidad de los Andes in Santiago de Chile. Concurrently, Prof. Dr. Haidar is the Founder and Head of the Biomaterials, Pharmaceutical Delivery and Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Tissue Engineering Laboratory (BioMat'X) and Faculty member in the PhD program (BioMedicine) at the Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de los Andes in Santiago de Chile. Haidar is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a PhD in biomaterials and tissue engineering from McGill University, Montréal , Canada; and post-doctoral training at the Montréal Shriners Hospital, McGill University Health Center, Montréal , Canada. Before moving to Chile, he served as the Chair of Excellence in BioEngineering at the Université de Limoges, Limoges, France and was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, USA. Haidar has won several prestigious awards from the International Bone and Mineral Society, Society for Biomaterials, Canadian Biomaterial Society and Canadian/Lebanese Society of Plastic Surgeons, to name a few. He has more than 80 publications, conference proceedings, text-books and patents and is an editorial board member of several national and international scientific journals and periodicals.

Professor Kanwar is the group leader and laboratory head of Nanomedicine-Laboratory of Immunology and Molecular Biomedical Research in School of Medicine, Faculty of Health at Deakin University. His earlier research (for nearly a decade in New Zealand) has focused on studying pathophysiology and devising new treatments mainly for cancer and chronic inflammatory diseases. Prof. Kanwar is currently working on nanotechnology/nanomedicine based protein/peptide, aptamers and his research approach employs monotherapy (gene therapy, immunotherapy) and combinational therapy with commercially available chemotherapeutic agents including LNA-aptamers (RNA/DNA), peptides and other biomolecules such as siRNA, miRNA, aptamers, proteins, siRNA, miRNA and their chimera (LNA-aptamer chimera with siRNA/miRNA delivery for targeting expression of survivin (the validated anti-cancer target), HIF-1 and apoptotic signalling molecules in cancer and chronic inflammation.

Cancer and chronic inflammatory diseases targeted nanomedicine based drug delivery siRNA, miRNA anti-sense targeted gene nanomedicine based technology to target cancer and inflammation. Drug discovery with anticancer targets for cancer cell survival, death, arrest and repair. Development of recombinant proteins and searching new immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory bioactives, proteins and peptides for cancer and neuroprotection. Development of complementary alternative medicine from the milk derived proteins including metal binding protein (Lactoferrin), and herbal preparation derived active components with a special focus on the treatment of colon and breast cancers. Development of oral and intravenous administration of nanocarriers to overcome the challenging concept of drug resistance in various cancers. Development of new generation safe, biodegradable, less toxic, disease targeted natural contrast materials for imaging. Novel nano-medicinal based vaccines and immunotherapy Micro-fluidics and Lab-on-a-Chip devices for delivery and diagnosis.

Alain L. Fymat is a medical-physical scientist and an educator who was educated at the Universities of Bordeaux and Paris-Sorbonne, France, and the University of California at Los Angeles. He is the current President/CEO and Professor at the International Institute of Medicine & Science. He was formerly Professor of Radiology, Radiological Sciences, Radiation Medicine (Oncology), Critical Care Medicine, and Physics at several U.S. and European Universities. His current research interests lie at the interface between science and medicine (precision medicine, nanobiotechnology, nanomedicine, genetics/epigenetics/ecogenetics). He has extensively published (>> 300 scholarly publications) and lectured in several national and international academic, professional, governmental and industrial venues. He is a a Board member of several institutions, Editor of the Journals “Nanobiotechnology” and “Global Nanomedicine”, and Honored Editor of the Journals “Cancer Prevention and Current Research” and “Nanomedicine Research”.

Ching-An Peng started his academic career as an assistant professor at the University of Southern California in Chemical Engineering Department and later on promoted to associate professor with tenure. He then worked at the National Taiwan University as a full professor and at Michigan Technological University as the first holder of the James and Lorna Mack Endowed Chair in Bioengineering. In 2015, he joined the University of Idaho. Over the course of his academic career, Peng has been involved with research in drug/gene delivery using viral and nonviral vectors as well as ultrasonic device, developing phagocytosis-resistant perfluorocarbon-based oxygen carriers using PEGylated fluorosurfactant and CD47 ligand, photothermolysis of cancer cells using nanomaterials, and detection of antiviral agents using nanobiosensors.

Hans Fecht is Chaired Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Ulm, Germany, and Director of the “Institute of Micro and Nano-materials". He received his PhD at the University of Saarbrücken in 1984 and became professor at the University of Augsburg after postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the California Institute of Technology, USA. In 1993 he was appointed Full Professor at the Technical University Berlin and in 1997 at University of Ulm. He directs a group of about 30 academics, students, technicians and visitors. He has published more than 450 scientific papers, coordinated numerous national, European and international research projects and (co)organized a number of international workshops, symposia and conferences. Hans Fecht was awarded with the Leibniz Prize of the German Research Foundation (DFG), "Pioneer of Nanotechnology" (Deutsche Bank), the Innovation Award of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and is member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. In addition, he is the office director of the EUREKA Cluster Metallurgy Europe.

Prof. Fecht directs a group of about 30 graduate students, PhD students and Post-Docs in the field. He has (co )authored more than 450 technical papers, (co-) organized several international conferences (micromaterials) and workshops (EPS, ESA, nanoDanube). He is a member of several international advisory boards and has a long standing history of managing national and international projects in the field of materials science and nanotechnology

Dr Liangchi Zhang is Scientia Professor at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), Australia; prior to which he has worked at the University of Cambridge UK, the National Mechanical Engineering Laboratory MITI Japan and the University of Sydney Australia. His research is on both the fundamentals and industrial applications in the cross- disciplinary field of precision manufacturing, nanotechnology and biomedical manufacturing. His research outcomes have been well received and have led to tremendous economic benefits for industry in tens of million dollars per annum. He was awarded a higher doctoral degree, Doctor of Engineering, at the University of Sydney in 2005 and elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Engineering in 2006.

Dr. Osman Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received PhD- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and his studies focused on shape memory alloys. He worked as research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University in 1980. He became professor in 1996, and he has been retired due to the age limit of 67, following academic life of 45 years. He published over 80 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 120 conferences and symposia in international and national level as Plenary Speaker, Keynote Speaker, Invited speaker, speaker or Poster presenter. He served the program chair or conference chair/co-chair in some of these activities. In particular, he joined in last six years (2014 - 2019) over 60 conferences as Speaker, Keynote Speaker and Conference Co-Chair organized by different companies in different countries. Additionally, he retired at the end of November 2019, and contributed with Keynote/Plenary Speeches over 60 Virtual/Webinar Conferences, due to the coronavirus outbreak in two year of his retirement, 2020 and 2021. Dr. Adiguzel served his directorate of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Firat University in 1999-2004. He supervised 5 PhD- theses and 3 M. Sc theses. He is also Technical committee member of many conferences. He received a certificate which is being awarded to him and his experimental group in recognition of significant contribution of 2 patterns to the Powder Diffraction File – Release 2000. The ICDD (International Centre for Diffraction Data) also appreciates cooperation of his group and interest in Powder Diffraction File.
